“Vy.Mova” is a public organization founded in 2019 by Ukrainian Member of Parliament Oleksii Goncharenko with the aim of developing free education in Ukraine and popularizing the study of the English language in remote settlements.
During 2019-2021, volunteers of the public organization “Vy.Mova” taught English free of charge in small villages, towns and cities of the Odesa region of Ukraine, in particular — where schools lacked English teachers. In this way, “Vy.Mova” provided a helping hand to state educational institutions that could not provide equal access to learning foreign languages in large and small settlements.
Since then, the development of education in small settlements has become one of the priorities of the public organization “Vy.Mova”.
Goncharenko Centres
Almost two years later, in February 2021, the team of the public organization “Vy.Mova” founded the first non-governmental network of educational and cultural spaces entitled “Goncharenko Centres“. The first hubs of the network were opened in Odesa in the cities of Podilsk, Balta and Kodym. Later, the geography of the project went beyond the Odesa region and began to acquire an all-Ukrainian scale.
During the three years of the operation of this project from February 2021 to February 2024, the team of the public organization “Vy.Mova” managed to open more than 30 educational and cultural hubs — “Goncharenko Centres” — throughout Ukraine.
Currently, the educational spaces of the network work in almost all regions: in the east, west, north and south of the country. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, part of the spaces in Donetsk region had to be closed due to the safety of the team and visitors. Thus, the centers in the cities of Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka and Lyman switched to the online format and formed the project “Goncharenko Centre Online” — the flagship of the educational network “Goncharenko Centres”.
For three years of work, the team of the public organization “Vy.Mova” and its project “Goncharenko Centres” provided access to free educational courses and art events for more than 1,000,000 Ukrainian men and women residing in Ukraine and beyond.
Free legal consultations
Another area of work of the Public Organization “Vy.Mova” is free legal consultation for military personnel, veterans, IDPs and Ukrainian refugees. During the one and a half years of operation of the project hotline, the lawyers of “Vy.Movy” consulted free of charge more than 110,000 servicemen, more than 6,000 women from military families, more than 25,000 forced migrants and Ukrainian refugees.
In addition, the public organization “Vy.Mova” is engaged in helping vulnerable categories of Ukrainians and military personnel. In particular, as of July 2024, the organization’s team, with the support of partners, transferred more than 350 tons of aid to the front and to displaced persons. We also sent more than 75 vehicles, more than 25 anti-drone guns, dozens of drones, portable EW to protect armored vehicles to the front, and even purchased a self-propelled artillery installation “Hvozdyka” (“Carnation”) for special forces.
The Black Sea Security Forum
A separate line of work of “Vy.Mova” is the organization of the largest security forum in the Black Sea region — “The Black Sea Security Forum.” In 2024, the event brought together top politicians, diplomats, officials and journalists of the world to Odesa with the aim of drawing attention to the security challenges of the Black Sea coast and accumulating additional aid to Ukraine in the face of a full-scale invasion.
The public organization “Vy.Mova” continues to work in educational, cultural and humanitarian areas to support Ukrainians and Ukraine. The organization’s partners include the University of Pennsylvania, Cisco Networking Academy, Lions Clubs International, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and dozens of other projects.
